Catherine Cuzzone is a Principal and Director of Communications and Administration for The United States Pilates Association® (U.S.P.A.®). Catherine was Sr. Level Corporate Executive for 10 years until whereupon her father’s diagnoses with terminal illness she began researching holistic healing modalities and discovered Pilates. In 1996, she graduated from The New York Pilates Studio® Teacher Certification Program under Pilates Elder Romana Kryzanowska and established Pilates Rhode Island. In 2003, Catherine became Brett Howard’s first Teacher Trainer with The New York Pilates Studio®. Catherine’s history in athletics which began as a child with ballet, gymnastics and competitive swimming extended through her early adult life when she competed in Division One athletics and was ranked for tennis, lacrosse, GS downhill skiing and equestrian eventing in New England. She credits Pilates with her ability to participate in these athletic pursuits through today while remaining injury free.
Catherine has a BA in Communications/Business Management as well as an Executive Management Diploma from Bank Boston. She assembled the U.S.P.A.® launch team in 2005 with business professionals from her home state of Rhode Island. She has completed graduate level studies in anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, biomechanics and nutrition. She is a Certified Gyrotonic Instructor and an ACE accredited Personal Trainer.
